Today’s Meditation

Now we have not received the spirit (that belongs to) the world, but the (Holy) Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts (of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly) bestowed on us by God.

1 Corinthians 2 v12

Today’s Meditation

For it is written, I will baffle and render useless and destroy the learning of the learned and the philosophy of the philosophers and the cleverness of the clever and the discernment of the discerning, I will frustrate and nullify [them] and bring [them] to nothing.

1 Corinthians 1: v 19

Today’s meditation

We who are strong [in our convictions and of robust faith] ought to bear with the failings and the frailties and the tender scruples of the weak. – We ought to help carry the doubts and qualms of others – and not to please ourselves.

Let each one of us make it a practice to please,(make happy) his neighbor for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him – that is, to strengthen him and build him up spiritually.

Romans 15: vv1-2
